Wild Cat Island, named after the schooner used by Captain Flint to take the young sailors on their first voyage in the Sparrows and Amazons series. Just a short 5 minute walk from your private parking space, located on the main river is Wild Cat Island floating pod, which sleeps 4 people with the comfort of the gentle tide underneath. Access is via a floating ramp, and depending on the tide guests either have to walk up or down to get on board, don’t forget to mind your head when stepping on board.
You enter straight onto the floating veranda, and this is a great place to sit and watch the river life, with a wonderful view up to Beccles old bridge and across to Beccles quay. Perfect place to sit and talk about the adventures of the day. A door opens onto the living room where you find a sofa, a small smart flatscreen TV, a table and here you can on the sofa and enjoy the view from indoors when the weather is a little chillier. The kitchen area is well equipped with a two ring electric hob, fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle. There are 2 bedrooms on board. The first has a double bed, while the second is a twin bedroom room with 2 single rooms, and both offer great views of the river where those staying can watch boats gently drift along throughout the day. There is also a bathroom complete with a basin, WC, and a shower
We are a working yard and as well as the pleasant comings and goings of the local wildlife, there are also boats coming and going, so there is a real buzz about the place.

Guests are welcome to bring their own canoes, SUPs or kayaks, just make sure you have the right licence. We also hire electric day boats if you want to explore the river Waveney. If you want to try something totally different our pedal boat for two is a wonderful way to see the wildlife. All experiences are available Tuesday to Saturday.
Private Fishing is permitted off the houseboats and around the yard.
Pets cannot be accommodated on this accommodation, although Swallows, Coot Club, Amazons and Secret Garden do.
