DayBoats - Your boat for a day

Our Dayboats are available Tuesday to Saturday

A family with mum, dad, two young girls, and granny and grandad going out on a dayboat on a sunny day. The children are wearing pirate buoyancy aids, adults regular ones, the canopy is down and they are waving goodbye from their electric dayboat

Self drive Day boats can be hired by you to explore the River Waveney on the Broads National park, you skipper your “boat for the day”. The boat is available for your use from 9.15am - 4.30pm, and you can choose to use it for as much or as little of this time as you choose to. There’s no better way to explore the beauty of the Norfolk Broads than a day on the water with Hippersons Boatyard in Beccles, Suffolk. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion, spending time with family, or just looking for a unique outdoor adventure, we’re here to make your day extraordinary. Parking on site is provided with your own named space. Buoyancy aids and all fuel is included, the party leader needs to be  at least 18. Whoever captains the boat must stay under the legal limit for driving and no alcohol is to be consumed or taken on our boats.   All our boats are non smoking and non vaping.  We offer your boat for a day hire only, booked in advance online.

We enjoy a drink and we love boats but the two don’t mix. In order to bring the river to life safely and to ensure you have a positive experience, we require that alcohol will not be taken or consumed on board the boats.

If you intend to arrive on foot, then we will be taking a deposit of £250 for the boat, on one card, which will be returned within five working days when the boat is returned safely and the driver is under the legal limit.

Contact us today to book one of our day boats and set sail on an experience you’ll remember forever!

You and your companion will face each other, cycling towards each other to go forwards, and away from each other to reverse. It is a unique and gentle way to explore the river, and don’t forget to wave at the river bank dwellers as they spot the flags.
