“Sparrows and Amazons”

With our new experience package we want to take the headache out of creating a memorable holiday on the Broads National Park. One where you and your loved ones spend time exploring the river and the countryside within the Waveney Valley. We will also be recommending places for some local taste sensations which will delight and satisfy at the end of your days adventures. The perfect way to recount the stories of the day and plan for the adventure of tomorrow.

So what is a “Sparrows and Amazons” package?

We have mixed together experiences our customers love, and added some new experiences that our customers have requested, added a little local flavour and mixed it up with some Mary’s magic to create a holiday full of fun, and fully planned for you, before you arrive. Each package will contain:

A reservation at Award winning Royal Oak Fired pizza for the night of your arrival. Relax on your journey knowing the food for the first night is in the hands of Paul and Paul, and all you have to do is pay for whatever you choose. www.oakfired.co.uk.

A mini hamper on arrival made for you by Pauline of Beccles Station cafe https://www.facebook.com/becclesstation/, (the same cafe that can also provide breakfast delivery for you during your stay, if you choose to add that to your visit.) Before you arrive we will check any food preferences or allergies.

A guided canoe tour, getting close to the river and seeing Water life up close and personal, lead by our resident expert Stephen. You and your party will have time to explore the quieter stretch of the river, through the back gardens of Beccles and out to the countryside where often Kingfishers are seen. This will last approximately 2 and a half hours, and will start  at the civilised time of 11am, allowing you to take your time over a relaxing breakfast.

Exclusive use of on one of our self drive day boats for a day (9.15-4.30) where you can revisit the quieter stretch of the river and this time have time to stop at The Wherry Inn or the Geldeston Locks. Alternatively you can explore the opposite direction and take some provisions with you for the trip. Our staff will take you through how to steer the boat, so you have a lovely day out on the river.

Finally, during your stay, one of our staff will show you how to row your dinghy, and also how to add the sail and give you a tutorial in how to use it. That way you can do your own exploring around the local area by oar or by sail.
