Storage Conditions 

  1. Winter storage can start from the Monday of the first full week in November and end on the Friday of the last full week in March. 

  2. Only the boat owner(s), named in this agreement, is allowed to work on the boat in the yard, no friends or family 

  3. Work that Hippersons offer on the yard cannot be undertaken by any other contractors at our premisies.  

  4. Work Hippersons are unable to offer, may only be undertaken by Hippersons approved contractors, for whom we hold copies of all necessary public liability insurance. 

  5. Any electrical components used beyond kettles, basic power tools etc, will incur additional costs. This includes (and is not an exhaustive list) dehumidifiers, heaters and so forth 

Lift in and Out dates  

Subject to unknown variables such as weather and tide conditions, Hippersons will endeavour to lift in and out within a time frame agreed with the owner when the agreement is signed. These dates must be within the winter storage dates. These dates to be written into the agreement.

Boat Handling 

Hippersons will endeavour to take care of all boats when they are being, lifted in or out, moved around the yard or blocked for storage. Hippersons will not be responsible for any scratch, gauge or abrasion, unless the damage is due to the negligence of Hippersons.  

 Keys, access and insurance

The owner agrees to give Hippersons one complete set of keys to be kept on the key board in the boatyard. The owner will provide Hippersons with a copy of the boat insurance and boat safety certificate and understands that Hippersons do not provide insurance for the owners boat. Hippersons will not be liable for any property damage, liability or loss, and recommends that all personal effects, Marine equipment and movable goods contained within the boat are removed prior to the lift out. Flammable materials are not to be left on boats on winter storage. 

 Valuables 

Hippersons cannot be responsible for items of value left on deck or in unsecured storage compartments.  

 Late Fees 

If a boat is not ready to lift back in by the end of March, a late fee chargeable at £2 a foot per week at a minimum of 20 foot will be charged 

 Maintenance, Cleaning and Extended hours 

The owner understands that should the area surrounding the boat be left in an unsuitable manner, or the premises are kept open outside of normal working hours, an hourly rate will be charged at £25 an hour for clean up or inconvenience. The minimum charge will be £25. 

 Liabilities  

Hippersons will have no liabilities for any accidents or injuries that occur to the boat owner, the owners family or friends whilst visiting the site.  

 Code of Conduct 

The owner agrees to adhere to the Hippersons Boaters Code of Conduct whilst on site at Hippersons Boatyard.
