Code of Conduct for all Boaters
At Hippersons Boatyard we aim to make boating a great experience for everyone and are keen to bring the river to life for all the family. To avoid misunderstandings, we have a code of conduct we expect all our boaters to follow. Failure to do so can result in us asking you to take your boat to a different place.
Hippersons operates a No Smoking or Vaping policy in communal areas, and any buildings or day boats.
The site is pet friendly. However, we do insist that all dogs remain on leads at all times.
Hippersons does not have insurance for individual boats. When your mooring agreement is sent out annually, it is essential that you provide a copy of your Boat Safety Certificate and Boat Insurance Policy.
We respectfully ask all boaters to:
Ensure your boat ropes are tied sensibly allowing for the tidal range.
Use the area only directly behind your mooring for sitting out, and be mindful not to encroach on other users enjoyment.
Keep all walkways clear, and do not attach items to or modify the quay heading, mooring cleats jetties etc.
Only you are permitted to carry out repair work on your boat on site. We do not allow visiting friends and family to carry out repair work at Hippersons Boatyard. Boat work must only be carried out between 9.30am and 5pm after informing Hippersons at least 1 week in advance.
The mooring is let on the basis of personal use by those who signed the mooring agreement only, no subletting, or shared usage not declared at start of the mooring term is permitted,. Anyone found doing this will be asked to remove their boat.
Work required onsite that you cannot complete yourself, can only be undertaken by Hippersons Boatyard staff, or one of our approved contractors, a list of which is available on request.
Any contractors from this list who intend to work on site, must provide Hippersons with the minimum notice of a working week of their intended presence and the work they intend to do.
Noise must be kept to a minimum, showing consideration for other yard users at all times.
Electric cables must be plugged in via a meter.
No parties or gatherings are to be held on site.
Please inform us about all visitors who will be coming on site, before they visit, and sign them in at the visitors log, held in the office.
Please treat all Hippersons staff with respect and courtesy at all times.
You are welcome to use the trolleys but please return them straight away so they are ready for others to use.
Only park cars in the designated area for parking, and leave parking designated for experience or accommodation guests for that purpose.
